NEWPORT, R.I.—It'll be a fun day for Phishheads in Newport.

The Newport Folk Festival is taking place this weekend, with performances Saturday from the Black Crowes and Trey Anastasio, the former lead singer of the popular jam band Phish.

Jimmy Buffett tops Sunday's lineup at Fort Adams State Park.

Other performers this weekend include the Cowboy Junkies, Cat Power, folk icon Richie Havens and Jim James of My Morning Jacket.

The festival next summer will celebrate its 50th anniversary. It's best known as the place where Bob Dylan went electric in 1965.
