PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Another drop in gas prices means good news for Rhode Islanders planning a Labor Day getaway.

Separate surveys released Monday by AAA and the state Office of Energy Resources report that a gallon of regular, self-serve is averaging $3.58.

That's the lowest price since April. Still, gasoline prices have increased 34 percent since the same time last year.

According to the AAA survey, Rhode Island is among 10 states below the national self-serve average of $3.68.
