CRANSTON, R.I.—A Cranston man has been charged with possessing child pornography.
Police say 23-year-old Kevin Gesterling was released on $5,000 bail following his arrest Monday.
State police say in December the State Police Computer Crimes Unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that someone in Rhode Island was uploading child pornography to a Web site.
Police say investigators reviewed the contents of a computer belonging to the suspect and allegedly discovered several dozen images of child pornography.
He is due back in court on March 15. It could not immediately be determined if he had a lawyer.
