A shoplifting suspect in Rhode Island is alive after falling from a parking garage at the Providence Place mall, police say. Major Thomas Oates told the Providence Journal that Anthony Silva of East Providence stole sunglasses on Sunday afternoon and was running from an officer and a store employee when he jumped onto a pillar in an upper level of the garage. Oates says Silva then fell more than 25 feet to the pavement and suffered collapsed lungs and broken legs. He is charged with shoplifting and resisting arrest.
