PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Rhode Island's family court is set to close temporarily to honor a former judge who died this past weekend.
The judiciary says the family court will remain closed for most of Wednesday morning, reopening at 11:30 a.m.
Retired Associate Justice Edward Healy Jr. died on Saturday at age 88. He was one of the original judges when Rhode Island Family Court was established in 1961.
Other state courts will remain open Wednesday morning.![]()
