WOONSOCKET, R.I.
Relatives of a 25-year-old woman who was struck and killed while crossing a street in Woonsocket this week say her car broke down and she was looking for help after visiting her baby at a hospital. Family members told WPRI-TV that Krystal Durkin of Cumberland was driving home after visiting her child, who was born prematurely, at Women & Infants Hospital in Providence when car trouble forced her to pull over on Mendon Road about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. Police say she was crossing the street to get help when she was struck by a car. Police say they do not expect to charge the 32-year-old man who was driving the car that hit Durkin. (AP)![]()
