PROVIDENCE, R.I.—A Providence man has been sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison for drug trafficking in connection with a bust that netted more than 1.2 kilos of cocaine, $17,200 and two vehicles.

Federal prosecutors say 29-year-old Immanuel Rosario was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Providence. He pleaded guilty March 23 to conspiracy and possessing cocaine with intent to distribute.

Authorities say Rosario and Felix Williams Arnod Suriel were arrested on Sept. 2, 2010, after Providence police learned they were expecting a large shipment of cocaine that day. Suriel also pleaded guilty and will be sentenced Nov. 21.

Police recovered cash, cocaine and a semi-automatic pistol while searching three homes and a vehicle connected to the case.

Judge William Smith issued a forfeiture order for $17,241 and two vehicles.
