PROVIDENCE, R.I.—A rare October snowstorm has left about 1,500 electric customers in Rhode Island without power.
National Grid spokesman David Graves said Monday he expects power to be restored statewide by the end of the day.
Among those without power are 340 customers in Little Compton. Graves says electricity went out there Sunday night. He says he doesn't know what caused the outage.
The utility is using its own work crews to restore power.
The company says power failures peaked at about 20,000 at 7:30 a.m. Sunday.![]()
