PROVIDENCE, R.I.—The agency that oversees economic development in Rhode Island has appointed a new managing director of urban finance and business development as part of restructuring.
The Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation says Armeather (ar-MEE'-thur) Gibbs will manage its urban capital programs. She will also work on short- and long-range strategies to provide finance and business development in urban communities.
Gibbs is also expected to work with state and federal legislators and business leaders to secure funding for urban revitalization projects.
