RI attorney general to present Justice Awards
PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Kilmartin is set to honor 11 people with Justice Awards during a ceremony in Providence.
The event is scheduled for Thursday evening at Kilmartin's office. The awards honor achievements in the areas of consumer, elder and environmental protection, drug enforcement, crime and domestic violence prevention and law enforcement.
The awards are named after the eight previous attorney generals.
Organizers say Kilmartin's predecessors Arlene Violet, James O'Neil, Dennis Roberts, Jeffrey Pine and Patrick Lynch will present some of the awards.
The widow and son of former Attorney General Julius Michaelson will present the honor named after him. Michaelson died last month at age 89.
Traffic Tribunal Magistrate Alan Goulart will also be honored with a special award for his dedication and commitment.![]()
