Police identify suspects in Westerly man's beating
WESTERLY, R.I.—Police say they have identified multiple suspects in last week's beating of a 44-year-old funeral home director outside a Westerly bowling alley.
The Westerly Sun reports that David Poisson was jumped and beaten by a group of men after leaving Cleats Sports Club in the Alley Katz Bowling Center early Friday morning. He says a bone in his nose was fractured and his left eye was severely swollen.
Police Chief Edward St. Clair says four suspects have been identified and he anticipates obtaining arrest warrants. He says three of the men are in their 20s and one is in his 40s.
Poisson says he doesn't know the people who attacked him but that he had a run-in with one of them at Cleats a few days earlier.
