PROVIDENCE, R.I.—A Lincoln woman who pleaded no contest to charges that she caused an accident that left five children injured is scheduled to begin serving a prison sentence.

The Rhode Island attorney general's office says 43-year-old Sherry D'Amico is scheduled to surrender to authorities on Tuesday.

D'Amico was sentenced last week to serve two years in prison and another three in home confinement. She entered a no contest plea to several charges.

Prosecutors say D'Amico was driving drunk in April 2011 when she crossed the center line on Centerville Road in Warwick and collided head-on with another car.

The driver of the other car, 34-year-old Jennifer Carr of Providence, and her five young passengers, all suffered injuries.
