HOPKINTON, R.I.—A 44-year-old leader of a Connecticut Boy Scout troop has died after collapsing at a Rhode Island scout reservation.

The Providence Journal reports ( http://bit.ly/M9DFfM) the man, whose name has not been released, was running an obstacle "challenge course" at Camp Yawgoog (YAW-goo) in Hopkinton when he collapsed shortly before 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Camp officials say he was not with the boys from his troop and was on the course with another adult leader when he was stricken.

Officials have not released the name of the man's troop or its location in Connecticut.

The 1,800-acre camp is in its 97th year of operation. It is expected to get more than 6,400 campers this season.
