MIDDLETOWN, R.I.—Just in time for the weekend, Third Beach in Middletown is open for swimming.
Rhode Island health officials had recommended the beach close because of high bacteria levels.
They announced Friday that tests now show bacteria levels are back to normal.
Health officials monitor the water quality of the state's beaches throughout the summer to make sure it's safe for swimming.![]()
