PROVIDENCE — A four-time convicted felon who said he was preparing for doomsday has been arrested after federal authorities say he got his wife to buy 10 guns on his behalf. The US attorney’s office said Peter Laporte, 47, of Warwick, was arrested Thursday on charges including being a felon in possession of firearms.
