Jamming

Posted by Mac May 4, 2006 02:29 PM

Pogo, that cute little comic possum (we thought he was an alligator) who we never read because we were too into collecting Howard the Duck, once said something like: "We have met the enemy and he is us." Such is the case with driving and traffic jams. We are our own worst enemy. Not MassHighway, the MBTA or that guy with the nice hair who lives in Belmont and is running for president but won't say so. You know.

This article explains it all, and even ends with some traffic-jam-prevention tips toward the end. So the next time someone comes barreling down that on-ramp headed straight for your lane, let off the gas, avoid those brakes, and coast along. It may allow us all to get home in time for dinner.
