Storrow Drive Tunnel

Posted by Mac May 3, 2006 01:18 PM

Because the state Department of Conservation and Recreation has voluntarily agreed to conduct an environmental review of the impact of work on the deteriorating Storrow Drive Tunnel, there are two public "scoping sessions" [yes, this is their term] scheduled to discuss the project next week.

Both will take place May 11 (next Thursday), one at 2 p.m. in the auditorium at Shriner's Hospital, 51 Blossom St. The second session will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Gardner Auditorium at the State House.

The comment period ends June 13. Written comments should refer to the Storrow Drive Tunnel project (EOEA #13777) and can be sent to the following, which is in the running for the longest address in the world:

Secretary Stephen R. Pritchard
Executive Office of Environmental Affairs
Attn: MEPA Office, Deidre Buckley, EOEA #13777
100 Cambridge St., Suite 900
Boston, MA 02114
