Traffic?

Posted by Mac July 14, 2006 11:25 AM

A short note to say that, given the circumstances, things really haven't been too awfully bad, unless we're really missing something. We don't think we are. There have been some complaints about the marked detours, but all in all, this blogger has had two of the fastest commutes to and from the northern 'burbs in quite some time. Yesterday, leaving a tad late, the drive from I-495 to Dorchester was a speedy (but within the limits) half hour. Fingers crossed as the Turnpike connector remains closed indefinitely, possibly for weeks, which could spell months.

A reminder that, if you can find your way to the South Boston on-ramps to the Ted Williams Tunnel, it remains open to Logan. Also, the South Boston Haul Road, typically open to commercial traffic, is available to all. If you're coming from Logan and trying to get home north or south of the city, have your cabbie or driver take the Ted to avoid the congestion around the Sumner and Callahan.
