I-90 connector opens (kinda)

Posted by Mac September 1, 2006 06:21 PM

Tonight (Friday, Sept. 1) at 9 p.m., one lane of the eastbound I-90 connector will reopen. Motorists from the west will now be able to stay on the Pike eastbound and access the Ted Williams Tunnel to Logan Airport.

The route will take motorists through the connector tunnel (30 mph) and up to the surface at Exit 25 in South Boston, where they will travel about 100 feet before going into Ramp A and headed to the Ted and Logan.

Drivers can also access the South Boston Waterfront with this route and the following directions:

From the West to South Boston Waterfront/Convention Center: Continue on I-90/Masspike East and take Exit 25 to South Boston.

1. To Congress Street/Northern Avenue/Bank of America Pavilion: Follow the “Seaport Blvd.” signs to Congress Street and the Seaport District.

2. To the Convention Center: Follow the “Seaport Blvd.” signs to Congress Street. Turn right on Congress Street, right on D Street, right on Summer Street and left into the building.

3. To Black Falcon Cruise Terminal/Design Center: Follow the “Seaport Blvd.” signs to Congress Street. Turn right on Congress Street, right on D Street, and left on Summer Street. Take a left onto Drydock Avenue (which is Marine Industrial Park). Follow Drydock Avenue as it turns right at the end of the Boston Design Center. Turn right onto Black Falcon Avenue, traveling straight to the stop sign, where Port Officers will direct you for either passenger drop-off or to the parking gara
