Red-Blue -- and Green

Posted by Mac November 30, 2006 11:06 AM

We wrote today about the state reversing course and agreeing to design (not build) the controversial Red-Blue Connector, which obviously would connect the Red and Blue Subway lines. It's all part of a revised and more stringent list of promised transit projects meant to offset the congestion and pollution caused by the Big Dig.

Here's the full settlement agreement, via the Conservation Law Foundation web site.

One thing we feel we failed to mention in the piece today is the impact adding this $30 million design will have on the state's problems funding transportation project as it deals with a projected $16 billion shortfall. Wish we had included this.

Also wish we had included something questioning whether the Green Line extension and other projects on the list truly improve the region's air quality.
