Big news from the state for you in Milton, Dedham and the environs. Links from Starts & Stops. Image from boston-online.com:

"The Massachusetts Highway Department announced today that the Sprague Street bridge is scheduled to close Monday, January 22. The bridge will remain closed until Summer 2008 while it undergoes a $7.8 million replacement project.

"The structure, located in Hyde Park, crosses MBTA and CSX railroad tracks. It is flanked by the Dedham town line to the south and Milton Street and West Milton Street on the north.

"Work on the project began in November 2006, with the construction of a temporary pedestrian bridge. That structure is scheduled to be completed this week, to provide access for pedestrians during construction.

"Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes during the closure.
