BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont man who pleaded guilty in federal court to possessing child pornography also faces state charges of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child.

Fifty-year-old Robert Chase of Brattleboro could face at least eight years in prison when he is sentenced in April.

A plea agreement is being worked on for Chase. Assistant U.S. Attorney Barbara Masterson said a condition of the agreement is that Chase plead guilty to the state charges. The federal sentence would run concurrently with his state sentence.

Windham County Deputy State’s Attorney David Gartenstein tells the Brattleboro Reformer (http://bit.ly/11mdd8C) he’s aware of the federal plea agreement, but had no information on when Chase might resolve the state charges leveled against him.
