WARREN, Vt. (AP) — Sugarbush Resort is hosting extreme skiing this weekend.
On Saturday, skiers will compete in the Junior Castlerock Extreme in which they will be judged on the difficulty and execution of the line skied, jumps, fluidity, and quality of turns. The winner will qualify for the upcoming Castlerock Extreme, part of the Ski The East Freeride Tour, that will held at Sugarbush on March 9.
The backcountry Randonee Race co-hosted by Mad River Glen and Sugarbush has been postponed to Feb. 24. Racers will climb from the base of Mad River Glen to the top of General Stark Mountain along the Long Trail to Lincoln Peak.
The race is a benefit for the Green Mountain Club, which maintains the Long Trail.
