US Marshals say Vt. fugitive arrested in NY

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — The U.S. Marshal’s Service says a Vermont sex offender who failed to register has been arrested in New York state.
The Vermont Violent Offender Task Force says 60-year-old Francis Patrick Mesick, of Burlington, was arrested Friday in Chazy, N.Y.
In 1996 Mesick plead guilty to lewd and lascivious conduct and was required to register as a sex offender.
He was convicted in 2008 for failing to register as a sex offender.
Mesick’s arrest was a result of efforts by the U.S. Marshals, the task force and the state police in Vermont and New York.
