ST. ALBANS (AP) — The city of St. Albans, Vt., may be seeing a new hotel, in addition to a new state office building and multi-story parking garage downtown.
Realtor Peter Murphy tells the St. Albans Messenger (http://bit.ly/156X0n8) his firm and Linchris Hotel Corp. are working with the city on the project. Plans call for an 88-room hotel.
Linchris operates 25 hotels throughout New England, including the Hampton Inn in Colchester; the Best Western Inn and Suites in Rutland; the Holiday Inn Express in Springfield; and a Fairbanks Inn and Comfort Inn in St. Johnsbury.
The state office building would have space for 200 employees and be located on east side of Federal Street on a site that had included the former Brickyard Tavern. The city purchased that property in 2008.
