CLAREMONT, Vt. (AP) — A standoff between a parolee and police in Claremont, Vt., has ended peacefully and the matter remains under investigation.

The Valley News (http://bit.ly/UUs3Rb ) says convicted felon Anthony Jarvis Jr., whose father was killed in a police standoff in 2008, surrendered after three hours Friday. The incident happened at Jarvis’ home.

Police say the 43-year-old Jarvis had not been charged in connection with the standoff but was being held on a ‘‘parole detainer’’ at the Sullivan County House of Corrections in Unity. Police say the matter remains under investigation.
