RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) — A New York man is facing charges of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine in Rutland, Vt.

Federal prosecutors said Friday that 30-year-old Von Simmond of Brooklyn is accused of trafficking approximately 20 ounces of crack cocaine from New York City to Rutland, where they say he distributed it to others to sell during the winter of 2012-2013.

Investigators say he also made about 20 trips to Burlington to distribute the drug over a six-month period.

He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. A detention hearing is scheduled for Monday in federal court.end of story marker
