BARTON, Vt. (AP) — Two Vermont towns are getting a grant of just under $24,200 to help officials decide whether to re-develop the Crystal Lake Falls hydro-power plant.
The towns of Barton and Glover will contribute $3,000.
The grant will allow the towns to hire engineers to study the project and address flood resilience and water resources in the towns.
The Caledonian Record (http://bit.ly/1d6BoL5 ) reports the grant is part of the more than $58,000 awarded to Northeast Kingdom communities from the state out of a larger package of $450,000 in municipal planning grants.
