MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department says anglers caught some impressive fish last year including three more state records.
The records include a 42-pound-8-ounce carp taken while bow fishing in the Connecticut River. Fishermen also caught a record 21-pound-11-ounce freshwater drum and a 3-pound-1-ounce fallfish, both in the Otter Creek.
The department keeps records of 31 different species. They range from a 12-ounce rainbow smelt to as large as the record carp.
