Police say teens plotted to kill parents

WINDSOR, Vt. -- A 15-year-old high school student and her 18-year-old boyfriend were plotting to kill the girl's parents, police said yesterday about what they called a conspiracy to commit multiple murders.

School officials locked down the Windsor high school yesterday after a parent called police to say the student might be involved in a serious crime.

The couple had been planning to kill the girl's parents after school, police said.

When police arrested 18-year-old Ian Quaderer in downtown Windsor, he was carrying a 22-caliber handgun, police said.

Police stressed that the teenagers did not plan a shootout at school, but they might have had a gun there.

''One party had the gun, did not want it on school grounds, gave it to the other party to keep off school grounds. We don't know if exchange had took place on or off school grounds," Windsor Police Chief Vinny Jordan told WCAX-TV.

School officials decided to close the school so no intruders could enter the building, Superintendent Brenda Needham said.

Officials said the 15-year-old also will be charged as an adult, but her name was not released.

More charges are expected if authorities determine the gun had been carried onto school property.
