STOWE, Vt.—A retired University of Vermont scientist is asking for help from the public in locating the domesticated ravens "Ink" and "Shrimp" that he raised from chicks.

Professor Emeritus Bernd Heinrich says the bird he uses to study the social instincts of ravens went missing three weeks ago in the Stowe area.

Heinrich says Ink and Shrimp look like big crows. They will approach people for food and they can be identified by two metal rings on their left legs.

Heinrich has been studying ravens since 1984. In an April article in Scientific American he discussed the intelligence of ravens in Vermont.
