Two arrested in 2007 hate crime incident in Montpelier
MONTPELIER, Vt.—Police in Montpelier say two men have been named in a hate crime incident last year in which swastikas were etched into powder left by a discharged fire extinguisher.
Connor Dwyer, 18, and Robert Plunkett, 21, both of Barre, were arrested Thursday and will be charged with multiple offenses, including burglary, according to Police Chief Tony Facos.
In addition to the graffiti, a room on the top floor of a barn-like structure on East State Street was vandalized and two electric guitars stolen in the incident last August. Total damage: $3,000.
