POULTNEY, Vt.—Cellular telephone service could be getting better soon in the town of Poultney.
Last week, the Poultney Development Review Board approved an application to erect a 100-foot cell phone tower on village property.
People now have 30-days from the signing of the permit to appeal the decision to the Vermont Environmental Court. Some residents have said they would appeal.
Officials say the tower would increase cell coverage within the town and village by 29 percent.
The new tower would replace cell service from the bell tower on the campus of Green Mountain College.
