Supermarket recalls burgers

ALBANY, N.Y.—Price Chopper supermarkets is recalling pre-packaged hamburgers that might contain small bits of hard plastic.

The voluntary recall is part of a precautionary multi-brand recall announced by Fairbank Farms of Ashville, N.Y. It includes 4-packs and 8-packs of 80 percent lean ground chuck and 85 percent lean ground round patties, and 4-packs of 90 percent lean ground sirloin patties with a sell-by date of May 13.

In addition to pulling the product off shelves, Price Chopper has initiated its Smart Reply phone program which notifies customers who have purchased the item using their AdvantEdge card. Customers may return the product for a full refund.
