RUTLAND, Vt.—Jurors in the murder trial of a man charged with killing a University of Vermont student are seeing autopsy photos of her body.
The pictures of Michelle Gardner-Quinn were displayed on a screen in the Rutland courtroom where 37-year-old Brian Rooney is on trial.
Rooney is charged with aggravated murder in the October 2006 slaying of 21-year-old Gardner-Quinn, of Arlington, Va., a recent transfer to the University of Vermont who disappeared after a chance meeting with Rooney in downtown Burlington.
She was found dead six days later.
Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Steven Shapiro testified Tuesday about the nature of the injuries she sustained, and said it was apparent her clothes had been put back on her after she died.![]()
