Police: Fire at South Burlington jail arson
SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. --The Vermont State Police says that a correctional officer was slightly injured extinguishing an arson fire in a cell at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility in South Burlington on Friday.
Police say no inmates were injured and the fire in the four-person cell was out by the time firefighters arrived.
Police say bed linens were destroyed by the fire. Damaged was estimated at about $1,000.
The investigation into the fire is continuing.
