KILLINGTON, Vt.—The town of Killington has a new town manager.
At the end of June, 32-year manager Dave Lewis retired.
During Lewis' years in Killington, the town changed its name, built a new school gymnasium, a state of the art library, a new town garage, and its own golf course.
And town officials say it all happened while the municipal budget stayed low.
But Lewis may be best known for promoting Killington's bid to leave Vermont and join New Hampshire as a way to protest Act 60, Vermont's education funding law. Many Killington residents felt the law imposed unfairly high property taxes on them.
Killington is home to the Killington ski area.
Killington's new manager is Kathleen Ramsay.
