MANCHESTER, N.H.—Federal postal authorities say they're delivering mail in New Hampshire and Vermont faster than ever.

Nationally, overnight mail was delivered on time 97 percent of the time during April, May and June. That's the highest performance score ever recorded at the Postal Service. New Hampshire and Vermont matched that performance.

The rates are based on the time it takes from depositing the mail into a collection box or lobby mail chute to its delivery at a home or business.

The two states also met the on-time national delivery rates for first-class mail.
