NORTON, Vt.—The town of Norton is buzzing, hoping to find out who bought a winning $600,000 Powerball ticket over the weekend.

Julie Charest of the Norton Country Store says she doesn't know who bought the ticket, but 75 percent of her lottery customers are Canadians.

Charest says she'd love to tell a customer they'd won the big prize.

It was the second big Powerball prize recently in Vermont. Earlier this month a winning $1 million Powerball ticket was sold in Williston.

Vermont first joined the Powerball lottery in 2003.

Hadley Melendy of the Vermont Lottery says the $1 million prize was the largest Powerball win in the state.

The $600,000 sold in Norton was the state's second winning ticket for that amount. A $600,000 ticket was also sold last fall.
