BENNINGTON, Vt.—Southwestern Vermont Health Care in Bennington has a new chief executive officer, after a nationwide search.

The board of trustees announced Wednesday that Thomas A. Dee has been appointed to the post.

Dee, the former president and CEO of Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, N.Y., is expected to begin work on December 1.

Previous CEO Harvey Yorke resigned in March amid a growing fiscal crisis within the health system.

SVHC is the parent company of the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington and a number of other regional health care organizations.
