BURLINGTON, Vt.—May Kotsopoulos, a 2010 graduate of the University of Vermont and member of the women's basketball team, has been named the 2010 America East Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
The league office said Thursday Kotsopoulos was chosen from a group of 18 student-athletes who were tabbed Scholar-Athletes in their respective sports.
Kotsopoulos is a three-time America East Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete and was Academic All-American in 2010.
In June, Kotsopoulos signed a professional contract with the Dan Ano Liosa, a Greek team located in Athens. She will play for that team beginning this fall. The team plays in the top division in Greece and the season runs from September to April.
