WEST RUTLAND, Vt.—Vermont State Police are asking for information anyone may have about a suspicious fire that struck a vacant house in West Rutland.
Police say quick action by local firefighters meant only two rooms were damaged in the two-story, wood-frame home at 76 Smith Street in West Rutland.
Local firefighters asked for assistance from the Vermont State Police fire investigation unit.
Police announced on Thursday that the fire had been determined to be of suspicious origin, and was being investigated as a crime.
