Trial delayed for father in baby’s death

The trial of an Arlington, Vt., man charged with causing the death of his 5-month-old son has been delayed into 2011. The Rutland Herald says a jury for Russ Van Vleck’s trial was scheduled to be drawn today. Last week, William Wright, who represents Van Vleck, requested more time to prepare his case and file motions. Van Vleck, 28, faces a felony charge of manslaughter, accused of having “recklessly caused the death’’ of his son, Colin Van Vleck, who died Oct. 3, 2009. Prosecutors say the case may not be scheduled for trial until February because of issues that still need to be resolved.
