ESSEX, Vt.—Students at Essex High School are planning an all-day sit-in to protest what they say was an act of bullying directed at a gay student last weekend.
Essex Police say they're investigating the incident but aren't commenting beyond that.
Since the incident on Sunday, in which the victim was reportedly punched in the face by a fellow student, a Facebook page has been created announcing Friday's sit-in and collecting comments about the problem of bullying.
Officials say outsiders will not be allowed in the school on Friday, but some are planning to rally outside.![]()
