BENNINGTON, Vt.—Schools in southwest Vermont are hosting visits from veterans this week.
Veterans groups see the visits as a chance to teach about the significance of the observance and share it with other generations.
The Bennington Banner reports (http://bit.ly/sw4oqq) veterans from nearly every branch of the military who have served in U.S. military engagements since the Korean War plan to visit all nine schools in the area during the week to speak with students.
Classes also plan to be in session on Friday and take part in a parade.
