CHARLOTTE, Vt.—There's a new proposal for a solar array project in Charlotte, Vt.

A company called All Earth Renewables wanted to install solar panels on a half-acre of town-owned land on Thompson's Point. The electricity generated would power the town hall, library, wastewater treatment facility and other buildings. But the town selectboard rejected the proposal last week.

Now, there's a new plan. Developers for Solar Charlotte LLC want to build 345 solar panels on 15 acres of private land.

The firm is established by American Capital Energy Inc., a Massachusetts-based solar engineering, procurement and construction contractor and solar developer.

The Charlotte Planning Commission plans to discuss the proposal on Thursday.
