Shumlin to attend Democratic governors meeting
MONTPELIER, Vt.—Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin is planning to attend a Democratic Party fundraiser at the home of a former rival and then head this coming week to a meeting of the Democratic Governors Association in Los Angeles.
Sunday evening's fundraiser is at the Hartford home of former state Sen. Matt Dunne, whom Shumlin defeated in last year's Democratic gubernatorial primary.
Shumlin travels west on Monday for a conference that begins with a dinner with his fellow governors at the posh Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
On Tuesday, the governors will discuss energy policy, government efficiency and the role of technology in government. On Wednesday, he's to join colleagues for a tour of California high-tech businesses.
Shumlin is to return to Vermont on Thursday.![]()
