COLCHESTER, Vt.—Police in Vermont are on the lookout for a man they say attempted to abduct a clerk outside a convenience store in Colchester.
Colchester police say the woman told detectives she was grabbed from behind shortly after 6:30 p.m. Friday while standing outside the Champlain Farms Store in Colchester Village having a cigarette.
She said she was forced into a vehicle that was parked to the side of the store, but that she jumped out when her assailant turned to look for oncoming traffic.
The suspect is described as a white man with a muscular build between 25 and 30 years old. The vehicle is described as a dark-colored, older-model Jeep Cherokee.![]()
