Police remove Occupy camp in Brattleboro, Vt.
BRATTLEBORO, Vt.—Police in Brattleboro, Vt., have removed abandoned tents and other equipment from an encampment formed as part of the Occupy Wall Street movement.
Demonstrators were never formally asked to leave the Common. They had staged a protest at the park since early October.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports (http://bit.ly/tY1Jsg) police conducted welfare checks from Dec. 13 to 19 and found that the tents were being used for storage and or/had been abandoned. No one was living there.
The items were removed Monday.
