NORTH TROY, Vt.—A trucking company owned by a Vermont state senator and his son has been shut down for not having workers' compensation insurance.

A court has granted a permanent injunction against Starrs United, Inc.

Sen. Bobby Starr, a Democrat who represents Essex and Orleans counties, told the Burlington Free Press ( http://bfpne.ws/ttNHaw) on Friday that his son, Eric Starr, "looks after" Starrs United, Inc., and another company called E. Starr Trucking.

Labor officials say E. Starr Trucking also was cited for not having workers' compensation insurance last spring but now carries the insurance.

Starr said he didn't know whether he and his son would get the insurance or "just switch everything to the other company" that carries the insurance.

Eric Starr could not be reached for comment.
